Contact Improvisation

Contact Improvisation is a dynamic, creative and fun dance form. Suitable for all levels of movement experience, contact improvisation can range from acrobatic to meditative. It involves a rolling point of contact, weight sharing, and cultivating presence.

A second-generation professional juggler, Aaron's first movement discipline was circus acrobatics. However, his first movement love was contact improvisation, which he discovered in 1990. He has been teaching workshops and at dance festivals since 1997.

Aaron's goal as a contact improvisation teacher is to help people move to a higher level in their dancing. He loves teaching big lifts and acrobatics but balances that out by encouraging introspection and present moment awareness.

Having spent many years as a street performer, Aaron loves to shake things up. “A little irreverence and humor go a long way…”
